The steps below assume you are already logged into your Bellarmine account and are setting up a YubiKey as your physical security key.

  1. Navigate to https://mysignins.microsoft.com.
  2. Click on My Account.
  3. Click on Security info.
  4. Click on Add sign-in method.
  5. On the screen that appears, click on Passkey.
  6. On the screen titled Sign in faster with your face, fingerprint, or PIN click Next.
  7. On the Create a passkey screen, click on the Save another way button.
  8. On the Select where to save your passkey screen, click on Windows Hello or external security key.
  9. On the Save your passkey screen, click on Change.
  10. On the Choose where to save your passkey screen, click on Security key.
  11. On the Save your passkey screen, enter a PIN and then click OK.
    Please note: you will need to remember this PIN.
  12. The next screen will direct you to touch and hold the contact of your YubiKey to setup the security key.
  13. Once that has been completed, you will be prompted to name the passkey. Click Next once you have done so.

This completes the process. Your passkey will now be listed on the Security info page for you account. 

When using a YubiKey to sign in to your account, you will need to do the following:

  1. Connect the YubiKey to the computer.
  2. Begin the login process for your account by entering your email address.
  3. You will be presented with the Sign in with a passkey screen as shown below. 
    Please note, if the screen does not display Security key, you will need to click Choose a different passkey.
  4. Enter the PIN you setup when enabling the passkey and click OK.
  5. Touch the contact on the YubiKey.
