These instructions will step through how to use the file storage that is already part of a Microsoft Team to share files with members of that team.  Normally you would only be able to place files within folders named for channels, but the steps below will show you how to add additional folders.


You will need to have either the Teams desktop or web version running.


  1. For any non-private channel, click on the Files tab (shown below in yellow)
  2. Once that tab loads, click on Open in SharePoint (shown below in yellow)

    You may be prompted to verify your login to SharePoint using your Bellarmine credentials at this point; please be sure to do so.
  3. In the main area of the screen, click on Documents (shown below in yellow) to be taken to the top level of the document library that is associated with the Team you selected.

    Any non-private channels will have folders that have items that have been attached to posts or uploaded to that channel.  Document libraries for private channels must accessed individually and will not be shown regardless of your permission to see the channel.
